Cultural Competency for Educators

On Demand

Cultural Competency for Educators is a PELSB-approved course that meets licensure renewal requirements for K-12 educators in Minnesota who need to complete cultural competency training. The program covers the following topics and is worth 16 CEUs:

  • Understanding, Uncovering, and Overcoming Our Biases

  • Supporting Students from Indigenous Nations

  • Increasing Religious Literacy

  • Recognizing Systemic Racism

  • Supporting LGBTQ Youth

  • Language Diversity

  • Students with Disabilities and Mental Health Concerns

  • Culturally Responsive PBIS

The program is 100% online, self-guided, which means you work through the program on your own schedule.

To complete the program, you will work your way through eight modules (approx. 1-2 hours each), in which you will read articles, watch videos, complete reflection exercises, and read what other educators had to say. At the end of the program, you will complete a 10-question quiz to demonstrate that you've successfully met the learning outcomes for the program.
